Frequently Asked Questions
What is 'TNR'?
'TNR' stands for Trap Neuter Return; it is a method of controlling feral cat populations. Trained volunteers and veterinarians humanely trap feral cats and neuter them before returning them to the place they were found. Kittens deemed "tamable" by experienced rescuers are removed from the colony and made available for adoption. Cats who are neutered have their ears tipped (the tip of the ear is cut off under anesthesia) to make it clear to future TNR teams that the cat has already been neutered.
